What can I do about my forefoot pain?
Quite a lot, actually!
Many different factors and conditions can work, independently or in combination, to produce pain in the forefoot. However, pursuing the following tips can help relieve discomfort:
- Check to make sure your shoes are in good repair, fit well, and provide enough support and cushioning. Avoid high heels and shoes with tight toe boxes.
- Try to keep yourself at an optimal body weight. Each pound you lose relieves several pounds’ worth of pressure on your feet with each step.
- Don’t overtrain! If you’re going out for runs or playing a high-impact sport several times per week, try reducing the frequency of these sessions and replacing with low-impact activities like cycling.
