What can I do about my forefoot pain?

Quite a lot, actually!

Many different factors and conditions can work, independently or in combination, to produce pain in the forefoot. However, pursuing the following tips can help relieve discomfort:

  • Check to make sure your shoes are in good repair, fit well, and provide enough support and cushioning. Avoid high heels and shoes with tight toe boxes.
  • Try to keep yourself at an optimal body weight. Each pound you lose relieves several pounds’ worth of pressure on your feet with each step.
  • Don’t overtrain! If you’re going out for runs or playing a high-impact sport several times per week, try reducing the frequency of these sessions and replacing with low-impact activities like cycling.

Foot pain that is serious or lasts longer than a few days should be checked by the experts at the Kansas Foot Center. We can help you zero in on what’s wrong, and tailor an effective treatment plan. To make an appointment, give us a call at 866.222.5177 today.
